Please scan to a 300 dpi resolution at 100% (original dimensions). Do not activate any special function of the scanner, like sharpening, color correction, etc. and save the file in JPEG format to the littlest possible compression (if possible, not compressed at all). If you want that the picture to be enlarged, you must scan it to a higher resolution like 600 or even 1200 dpi. Even if you have a black and white picture, you must scan it in color mode.

If your picture is made with a digital camera, you must save it in TIFF or RAW format. If your camera is saving the pictures only in JPEG format, set your camera to the highest resolution.
